How NET Works

Imagine a lemon—really picture it in your mind. Now, think about cutting into it, smelling the fresh lemon scent, and watching the juice run down its sides. When you imagine squeezing that lemon juice into your mouth and taking a big bite, your mouth might start to water. This is a physiological response to the memory of a lemon—a clear example of how our minds can influence our bodies.

Similarly, the body’s response to stress works in much the same way. Normally, an emotional response to a stressful event is a healthy and natural process. However, sometimes this response doesn’t fully resolve, leading to lingering effects that can cause unwanted reactions to similar future events.

Addressing Neuro-Emotional Complexes

In NET, we refer to these unresolved emotional responses as Neuro-Emotional Complexes (NECs). When you recall a stressful event, your body may replicate the physical state it was in during the original incident, reactivating the unresolved emotion. NET helps to locate these NECs and release the emotional “charge” associated with them, allowing your body and mind to finally move past the stress.
